History of the Philadelphia Leather Contests
The Mr. and Ms. Philadelphia Leather contests have always been owned and produced by The Bike Stop.
Over the years various members of Philadelphians MC have entered the contests, coordinated the contest, and sometimes even won the contest, but Philadelphians MC has never owned the contest and has never produced the contests. The club has always been strong supporters of The Bike Stop, the contests, and the undeniable feeling of family and community that they foster.
The Mr. Philadelphia Leather contest was started in 1983. The Ms. Philadelphia Leather contest followed ten years later in 1993. In 2009 both contests were suspended. They returned better than ever in 2015, and were suspended again when the pandemic hit in 2020. There’s been no word about when we might see them hit the stage again, but we like many in the Philadelphia area are looking forward to that day.
Here is a list of past winners of the contest and some photos from over the years, which we archive here for posterity. It also serves as an interesting snapshot of how the leather community has changed over the years.
